Birdie’s Flight Peloton Run with Becs Gentry

On June 13, 2026, Peloton instructor Becs Gentry hosted a 45min Progression Run in support of Birdie’s Flight (link here).  Runners tagged #birdiesflight on the leaderboard and Birdie’s Mom, Dad, Aunt and Uncle all had a chance to take the run which was so inspiring and featured several Birdie themed songs on the playlist.  Thank you to Becs and to all of the Becs Beasts running community who made it happen and were so generous with their time and sponsorship!  
  

Bouqs for Birdie

In May of 2026, Merrill Loring and her family hosted a “Bouqs for Birdie” fundraiser gathering her friends prior to prom to make their bouquets and donate to Birdie’s Flight.  Merrill is one of Birdie’s favorite babysitters and we love their special relationship!  
  

Southern C Instagram Live Auction

On May 12, 2026, the Southern C community, led by rockstar auctioneer Lydia Fenet, and Southern C founders Whitney Wise Long and Cheri Leavy, hosted an Instagram Live auction benefitting Birdie’s Flight.  The auction featured prizes and lots from some of the incredible makers in the Southern C community- including clothing from Sue Sartor, consults with Lydia, Veranda Magazine, industry veterans Jackie Thomson and Libba Osborne, as well as a stay at the Colony Hotel!  The auction raised close to $20,000 in one hour and was a lunch hour we will never forget! 
  

Juliet’s Odyssey Project & Moe’s Fundraiser

Juliet Berry, Birdie’s amazing neighbor, chose KDM5C and Birdie’s Flight as her class project to research this year.  Juliet scheduled a video call with N-Lorem to learn more about our project, presented to her class and hosted a Cinco De Mayo taco fundraiser on May 3, 2026.  Thank you, Juliet! 


   

Biscuits for Birdie

On April 28, 2026, Louise and Eliza Fritz organized “Biscuits for Birdie” at McCracken Middle School and sold Chic-Fil-A biscuits, and organized a Pajama Day with student council to raise money for Birdie’s Flight.  We are so grateful to these wonderful young people for supporting Birdie and our mission!!   

Lucy 115

On April 25, the 14th edition of the Lucy 115 took place which saw a group of riders bike 115 miles from Nashville to Sewanee, Tennessee.  The Lucy 115 honors the memory and legacy of Lucy Williford.  Birdie’s godfather, Marshall Rabil, has ridden this race since the beginning.  We were honored that this year, Lucy 115 chose Birdie’s Flight as one of their charities and are grateful for their support of our mission. 

Brisket for Birdie

On April 18th, 2026 Mac Steele aka “Uncle Buck” organized “Brisket for Birdie” at Crossfit Krypton Carolinas in Landrum, SC and sold delicious homemade brisket sandwiches aided by Birdie’s Uncle Charles Reutter who came out to support.  Local support came as well from Bluebird Coffee in Landrum, SC.  Thank you to Birdie’s amazing uncles for a wonderful (and delicious) day! 


Veronica Beard Shopping Event

On March 20th, 2026, Veronica Beard on King St. in Charleston hosted a Birdie’s Flight shopping event and donated a portion of the proceeds to our cause. Thanks to Veronica Beard, the store staff, our lovely hostesses and guests, we raised over $7,000 for Birdie’s Flight!

Burn for Birdie

On Rare Disease Day, February 28th, 2026, Burn Bootcamp Spartanburg hosted “Burn for Birdie” donation camps. It was fabulous being surrounded by friends working out for a great cause. We are blown away by the generosity of the Burn Bootcamp community!

Hot Cocoa for Birdie

On December 20th, 2025, Birdie’s young friends and neighbors led by the Berry family banded together to sell Hot Cocoa kits for Birdie’s Flight in Spartanburg and raised almost $800! We were so honored that our first fundraiser was hosted by the children who have watched her grow up!
